Recent Obsessions
Like many others, I've recently taken a liking to a certain boy band by the name of "One Direction". I have a favorite (Niall), I know the words to many of their songs, and I know the names of their girlfriends. However, in my defense, though I do like the group, I acquired most of this knowledge unwillingly because of my younger sister, cramming it into my brain!
Another thing I'm obsessed with at the moment is David Beckham. He's my new celebrity crush, for some reason, even though he's been around forever.
A HUGE obsession I've developped just in the past week or so is One Tree Hill (another thing that's been around forever). When I had Netflix I watched the first season and a little bit of the second season, then I cancelled my Netflix, forgot about it for awhile and then watched the 9th season on Hulu as the episodes came out. Now I'm scavenging for ways to watch all the episodes in between. I'm about halfway through the second season.
Now for an obsession that I've had for a while and will most likely have for a long time: Mermaids. That's right, mythical sea creatures. I've started writing stories about them and developing rules for mermaids. Set in stone aspects of being a mermaid that I've made up. I've actually made mermaid outfits on polyvore, too. I'm obsessed :)
I wish I were wearing this today: Tuesday
I'm justifying the fact that I haven't posted an outfit in a few days by saying that I wasn't in school, so technically I could wear whatever I wanted and the purpose is defeated. In other news, I taught my older sister how to use polyvore and I'm now afraid she's going to be way better at it than I am.

Chi-town Day 1-2
Last night I arrived in Chicago around 8 p.m. to come visit my sister who goes to school here. It was my first time flying alone and I didn't realize how nervous I was until my Dad and younger sister left me before I went through security. Even though I had flown to and from Nicaragua last summer, I felt like I had no idea what I was doing, but I did it and somehow I found my gate and figured out when it was my turn to board. Unfortunately I was in the last group and it was open seating so I sat in the back of the plane by the bathrooms right next to a big smelly guy who slept the whole time. Once I landed in Chicago I had to navigate the Midway airport, which I think is about equal to the size of the rest of the city. I met my sister at baggage claim, even though I didn't check a bag. We rode the El with her friend Matt and arrived at her apartment sometime before 9. I had already met her roommates so it was pretty easy to be comfortable in the apartment. If I haven't lost you from boredom already, I'll go on to the next day.
This morning I woke up around 7 and went with my sister to her first class at 8. It was really interesting and I followed it pretty easily, despite how extremely tired I was. I went to her next couple of classes (I came on her busiest day), then we went out for lunch and she took me back to the apartment while she goes to the library to work on school stuff. So I'm here now and I'm going to take a nap! Bye.

Eeks! Summer is coming!
Some seniors at my school have mentioned to me that they only have 18 days of school left as of today. That scares me so badly! Not only will I miss my dear senior friends, but that means I only have a few more days than that! I still have to make sure my GPA for this year will be okay, I have so much left to plan for our school's Spring Banquet (our school's version of Prom, minus the dancing), and I need to take the ACT sometime soon! Yikes! April is going to be a tough month.
But I'm also really excited for summer to come because I get to be a counselor at this really awesome camp that I've gone to ever since I was in 5th grade. For the past couple of years I've been a cabin leader and it's so much fun! I also get to go to a two-week seminar about worldviews in Colorado in this really cool town called Manatou Springs. But one of the most amazing things I get to do this summer is teach french! A lady my parents work with wants her two kids to learn french so I'm tutoring them. And they said learning french was useless! I might make money doing this someday, you never know.
I wish you all a very wonderful end of the schoolyear and beginning of summer!
